The Athabasca Landfill operates Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. 

Please note: You must show up at least 15-30 minutes before posted closing time, 30 minutes for a large load. Commercial loads must be off-site one hour before closing.

The municipal members of the Athabasca Regional Waste Management Services Commission include Athabasca County, the MD of Lesser Slave River, The Town of Athabasca, The Village of Boyle, The Summer Villages of Bondiss, Island Lake, Island Lake South, Mewatha Beach, South Baptiste, Sunset Beach, West Baptiste and Whispering Hills.

Payment Methods

Disposal fees may be paid at the Regional Landfill by cheque, Interac, Visa or MasterCard. Properly-sorted recyclables are accepted free of charge at the Regional Landfill. The first 500 kilograms of domestic waste is free for residents of the Town of Slave Lake and the Municipal District of Lesser Slave River. 

Cash is neither accepted nor kept on hand at the Regional Landfill.
